Reading product labels in grocery store – sounds familiar? This becomes a challenge when you go abroad. Many products are sold around the world in packaging that does not list the ingredients in English.

This glossary provides Polish and English words that are associated with a gluten free diet. The words and phrases are meant to help tourists and others understand ingredients found both on food packaging sold in grocery stores as well as ingredients of the dishes and products found in restaurants.

The glossary is divided into three groups:

  • Products that MUST be avoided by persons with gluten intolerance
  • Products that are naturally gluten free
  • Related words
